Dona Geninha was one of the first friends I made in Chã das Caldeiras. She was the one who introduced me to beans while she was peeling or degumming the beans sat on the floor. Dona Geninha is, at the moment, the oldest person living in the cratter. Our conversations were calm but consistent. One day she asked me if I wanted to make her a stool because the one she was using while cooking in her little kitchen was too heavy to move: a tree trunk.
